Landslide prevention work reaches final stage at Narayangadh-Muglin road



BHARATPUR: Landslide prevention work on Narayangadh-Muglin road has reached its final stage.

The Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project has stated that 84 percent of the work has been completed so far.

Work that was stopped for a month and a half due to lockdown has resumed. “Work is in full swing now,” said Engineer Shiva Khanal, the project’s information officer.

He said that the landslide prevention work has been continued by managing at the local level despite the problem of workers.

According to him, materials including wires and rods have been used to prevent landslides in nine places along the road section.

Landslide prevention work is being carried out near 15 kilo, 18 kilo, Ghumaune, Bhaludhunga, Jalvire, Charkilo, Topekhola and Kalikhola of the road section.

He said that landslide prevention work was being carried out using ‘rock netting’, ‘bolting’ and ‘bio-engineering’ techniques.

The construction company is working to prevent landslides in an area of 30,000 square meters.

Bajraguru Himashikhar and New Technical JV have won the contract for the landslide prevention work at a cost of Rs 149 million.

Under normal circumstances, 10,000 vehicles pass through this road section daily.
