Protest launched demanding arrest of culprits behind ward chair murder



ACHHAM: The family and local people have launched a protest demanding a fair investigation into the death of Padam Bahadur Dhami, ward chair of Panchadewal Binayak municipality-2.

Dhami was found dead at Gothchhana in Gairigaun on February 4.

The family and locals claimed that Dhami was murdered. The agitators organized a protest at Binayak bazaar halting transportation along the Mid-Hill Highway.

The family refused to take the body of Dhami demanding arrest of his murderer(s).

“Discussions with the bereaved family are underway so roads are cleared to examine Dhami’s body.

The municipality mayor, deputy mayor and local people are involved in the discussions,” said Inspector Ramesh Datta Awasthi.

A team of the Central Investigation Bureau, Nepal Police with the help of a sniffer dog has been investigating the death of Dhami, he said.
