Oman beats USA by six wickets in ICC WC League 2



KATHMANDU: Oman defeated the USA by six wickets in the ICC World Cup League 2 match played at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Thursday.

Oman achieved the 214-run target set by the USA in 49.3 overs losing four wickets.

Aqib Ilyas of Oman top-scored at 72 runs off 110 balls hitting two sixes and six fours. Mohammad Nadeem scored not out 55 runs.

Saurabh Netravalkar, Rusty Theron, Ian Holland and Steven Taylor took one wicket apiece for the USA.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, the USA notched up 213 runs, losing all wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Even the USA performed dull at the start it shone brilliantly after four wickets. IG Holand completed a half-century.

Holand made 65 runs including seven fours off 78 balls.

Akshay Homraj Akshay made 44 runs including three fours and two sixes off 53 balls while MD Patel contributed 19 runs off 28 balls.

Mohammad Nadeem of Oman grabbed three wickets while Zeeshan Maqsood, Aqib Ilyas and Bilal Khan scored two runs each.

Nepal is taking on the USA on Saturday.
