MMC, Machhindra players clash at Dashrath Stadium

KATHMANDU: Players of Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) and Machhindra Club clashed during a football match at Dashrath Stadium on Monday.

The clash erupted in the last minutes of the match.

Police intervened to contain the situation. Players of both the teams were escorted to the dressing room following the clash.

Office-bearers of both the clubs too resorted to manhandling while the players were clashing.

The match played under the ongoing Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League ended in 2-2 stalemate.

MMC took the lead in the 2nd minute of the match with the goal from Femi Joshua Adewumi. Adewumi crossed a header goal to a cross from Anjan Bista.

Sujal Shrestha scored the first goal for Machhindra in the 46th minute of the game. Somide Oluwawunmi Adelaja scored another goal for Machhindra in the 81st minute of the game.

Bimal Rana of MMC scored a goal in the 88th minute of the goal to level the tally.
