Nepal to deport 122 Chinese nationals on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu has decided to cancel the passports of all 122 Chinese nationals en-masse.

Nepal Police in December last year had rounded up 122 Chinese nationals from different parts of the Kathmandu Valley for their alleged involvement in different criminal activities.

According to police 96 Chinese nationals among those arrested do not have passports. Chinese Embassy is preparing to issue travel documents to send them back to China.

It is coordinating with Nepal Police to this effect, according to a source. All the arrested will be sent to their homeland on Wednesday.

Two aircraft will land at Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday and airlift all the arrested Chinese nationals in two shifts.

District Administration Office Kathmandu on Sunday issued an order to release 122 Chinese nationals rounded from different parts of the Kathmandu Valley charging Rs 1,000 each in fine.
