SURKHET: A man succumbed to the coronavirus in the district on Saturday night.

A 53-year-old man from Panchpuri Municipality-6 of Surkhet died while undergoing treatment at Karnali Province Hospital.

He had tested positive for the pandemic in a PCR test conducted on November 21. The man was admitted to the hospital the same day after respiratory complications.

He was initially given oxygen and later shifted to a ventilator, said Nawaraj Kandel, Health Education Officer at the Ministry of Social Development.

The coronavirus death toll in Karnali Province has reached 20.
