Kathmandu Valley witnesses 1,338 fresh COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: As many as 1,338 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,030 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 121 in Bhaktapur and 187 in Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, as many as 2,909 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 has reached 188,883 with fresh cases as of Friday afternoon.

Altogether 10,153 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 4,500 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 152,908 in the country.

Nepal currently has 34,905 active cases.

Likewise, 1,254 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as 18 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,070, the Ministry confirmed.
