2,909 diagnosed COVID-19 positive, Nepal’s tally reaches 188,883

KATHMANDU: As many as 2,909 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 has reached 188,883 with fresh cases as of Friday afternoon.

Altogether 10,153 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 4,500 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 152,908 in the country.

Nepal currently has 34,905 active cases.

Likewise, 1,254 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

A total of 380 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 83 have been put on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 43 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, eight in Province 2, 169 in Bagmati Province, 89 in Gandaki Province, 60 in Lumbini Province, three in Karnali Province, and eight in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of 12 in Province 1, two in Province 2, 44 in Bagmati, 17 in Gandaki Province, six in Lumbini Province, and two in Sudurpaschim Province are on the ventilator support.

As many as 18 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,070, the Ministry confirmed.
