Tatopani checkpoint closes again after 7 Nepali workers test COVID-19 positive



SINDHUPALCHOWK: The Tatopani border point between Nepal and China that resumed on Monday has been closed again from today after seven Nepali workers tested positive for the COVID-19.

The checkpoint, which was closed for three months due to floods and landslides, got closed within a day of its opening.

China closed the checkpoint after the infection was confirmed in the workers assigned for loading and unloading goods.

Chief of the Tatopani Customs Office, Lal Bahadur Khatri, accused that China unilaterally shut down checkpoint after the workers tested positive for the coronavirus.

The imports and exports have been stopped until next Monday.
