Monsoon to be active in eastern, central parts

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division says monsoon will become active in the eastern and central region of the country for some more days owing to the influence of the low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal.

According to meteorologist Manju Basi, monsoon is not likely to exit from the country for one week.

Basi added that even though the monsoon will not disappear one week from now, there is no possibility of continuous heavy rainfall.

Meteorologists have estimated that this year monsoon will remain till October 12. Last year, the monsoon exited on October 12.

The usual time for monsoon’s exit is September 23.
