KATHMANDU: As many as 1,017 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 783 persons in Kathmandu, 116 in Bhaktapur and 118 in Lalitpur have tested positive for coronavirus.
Similarly, 5 persons in Kathmandu have succumbed to coronavirus in the Valley in the last 24 hours.
A 59-year-old and 60-year-old females in Kathmandu, a 67-year-old female, a 61-year-old male and 77-year-old male in Lalitpur have succumbed to COVID-19.
Likewise, a total of 1,551 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across the nation in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of coronavirus infections has reached 90,814.
In a regular press briefing today at the Ministry of Health and Population, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the new number of coronavirus cases was confirmed in 11,047 PCR tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
A total of 1,099,276 PCR tests have been carried out so far.
On the occasion, it was shared that a total of 2,340 people returned home after recovery from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of people discharged after recovery has reached 67,542. The recovery percentage as of today is 74.3 percent.
Nepal currently has 22,709 active cases.
Spokesperson Dr. Gautam added that a total of 13,591 people are in home isolation, 9,118 people in institutional isolation and 4,221 in quarantine facilities.
A total of nine people lost their lives from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of people who have died from the coronavirus has reached 563 so far.
