Gandaki state government aids flood survivors



POKHARA: The Gandaki state government has provided relief aid to the flood survivors of Dhorpatan municipality and Nisikhola and Tamankhola rural municipalities in Baglung district.

The Gandaki state government provided Rs 50,000 each to 37 families of the deceased and disappeared in the catastrophic incident of flood and landslide that occurred at Dhorpatan on last September 2. As many as 22 families had lost their members and members of 15 families went missing in the natural disaster.

Likewise, relief amount has been handed to five families of Nisikhola and Tamankhola rural municipalities who lost their members in the landslides occurred during the months of June, July and August.

Minster for Internal Affairs and Law of the Gandaki state Hari Bahadur Chuman distributed the relief amount to the survivors in the disaster-hit areas on Monday.

Chief District Officer Suresh Neupane shared that the state government had provided Rs 2.1 million to the 42 disaster-affected families in the western belt of the district.
