Preparation in full swing for operation of citizen help desks



TANAHUN: The District Police Office Tanahun is bringing help desks into operation in five different places in view of the festive season.

In order to immediately resolve the problems faced by the passengers, police administration is setting up citizen help desks in five different places along the Prithvi Highway.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Arun Poudel shared that the help desks to be set up in five different places from Muglin to Kotre would help address the complaints of passengers and citizens.

The help desks would be set up at Puljeep of Anbukhairani, Dumre of Bandipur, Damauli of Byas, Tharpu of Myagde and Kotre of Shuklagandaki.

“There would be a huge flow of passengers returning homes in the festive season where they could be cheated and troubled”, he said, adding, the citizen help desks are designed to make the travel of the people easy and comfortable.

The general public besides the short and long routes passengers would receive service from the help desks.

Police have also charted out a security plan keeping into consideration the grand festivals which are coming closer.

SP Poudel said they have framed a security plan in view of potential criminal activities during the festival time.

“The security personnel would help all the people to reach their destinations in a safe manner. We would conduct COVID-19 sensitization towards adopting health safety protocol to contain the transmission of the virus”, he further said.

The district traffic police office has also come up with a ‘chain lock’ rule to avoid rampant parking. Traffic Office chief Resham Ranabhat shared that those parking their vehicles anywhere in a rampant manner have faced ‘chain lock’ rule and penalty for unruly behavior.
