980 new coronavirus cases take Nepal’s tally to 46,257

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of 980 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population has said.

As many as 1,814 infected persons got recovery during the same period.

With the PCR tests conducted among 10,382 persons in different laboratories across the country, the infection was found among 290 women and 390 men. The total infection has now reached 46,257

Similarly, the number of people recovering from the infection has reached 28,941 Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said on Sunday.

Currently, there are 17,027 active cases of coronavirus. Among them, 9, 201 are in institutional isolation and 7,826 in home isolation.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley has witnessed 354 more cases of coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours, 9 persons lost the battle against the coronavirus. The new fatalities have taken the death toll to 289.
