Minister Bhattarai donates Rs 50,000 to Khatun

KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai today donated Rs 50,000 to acid attack survivor Muskan Khatun.

The Minister donated the assistance on the occasion of his birthday on Sunday.

He called Khatun and her father to his Ministry in Singha Durbar and handed the amount to her.

Khatun survived an acid attack at the hands of two people last September while she was heading to a school in Birgunj.

A ninth-grader Khatun is currently receiving treatment.

Minister Bhattarai is learned to have told Khatun that she would become a doctor in the future.

“I ask you to deposit the money in the bank and spend it when you pursue a doctoral degree,” he said.

Prime Minister KP Oli, too, had called Khatun to his official residence in Baluwatar and assured her of making necessary arrangements for her education.
