Birgunj records another COVID-19 death

BIRGUNJ: Birgunj has recorded another coronavirus-related death.

According to Narayani Hospital, a 77-year-old man succumbed to the pandemic while being taken to Kathmandu from Birgunj for further treatment.

District Administration Office, Parsa, stated the man was undergoing treatment at Narayani Vayodha Hospital after being diagnosed coronavirus positive on Thursday.

Meanwhile, tests conducted in Birgunj have confirmed the coronavirus infection in 24 more people from Parsa, including bank employees.

A PCR test conducted at Narayani Hospital’s laboratory on Saturday night confirmed the new cases, said hospital’s spokesperson Dr. Atulesh Chaurasiya.

Five employees of Nabil Bank, Birgunj branch, have also been diagnosed positive.

Similarly, 22 people from different places of Birgunj Metropolitan City have been found infected.
