At least 17 killed in Bangladesh boat capsize



KATHMANDU: A passenger boat with more than 40 people on board capsized Wednesday in a marshy wetland in northern Bangladesh, killing at least 17 people.

According to a BBC report, the incident happened in Netrokona district, and divers recovered at least 17 bodies.

Nearly 50 people were on board the boat and about 30 swam to safety. The cause of the accident was not immediately known.

The incident site is 134 kilometers north of the capital, Dhaka.
