Chandragiri Municipality sorts out most complaints



KATHMANDU: Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu has received 67 complaints in the recent two years.

In the fiscal year 2075-76 BS, 46 complaints were registered at the municipality and it is followed by 21 in the current fiscal. Most complaints are related to house, land and roads.

Deputy-Mayor and judicial committee coordinator Lisha Nakarmi said complaints on domestic violence are also noticeable.

‘’Most of the cases have been sorted out by the committee and processes to resolve the remaining complaints are going on,’’ the local people’s representative said.

Discussions in person and discussions between/among complainant and defender are arranged to find an atmosphere for sorting out the issue.

The municipality has assigned arbitrators to mediate for resolving the issue. So far, it has trained over 40 mediators. It holds its bench every Monday.
