USA reports 111, 390 deaths, 1,965,708 infection cases



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 970 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 111, 390.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 25, 236 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,965,708 so far.

Currently, 1,115, 672 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 17, 121 are critical.  Meanwhile, 738, 647 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 30, 373 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 12,082 and 7, 235 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 398,146 and infecting 6,844, 796 people as of Saturday morning.
