POKHARA: The Finance and Development Committee of Gandaki State Assembly held video conferencing with the chairs all seven States’ Finance and Development Committees about the prevention and control measures taken against COVID-19.

The virtual meeting also recommended the federal government to make provisions for nasal and throat swab tests in all 77 districts across the country.

Likewise, the meeting also agreed on changing the existing modality of the lockdown.

The other issues discussed at the meeting include maximization of the Committee’s role in budget making, enhancing its role in pre-budget discussions, and supporting the State government in enlarging the revenue collection scope.

Chair of Gandaki State’s Finance and Development Committee Dipak Koirala said they discussed the work for food programs and making the budget more result-oriented instead of distributive one.

Koirala added that such video conferencing will be continued in the coming days and hoped that the Committees from all seven States would work further effectively.

Meanwhile, the Industry Entrepreneurs Association, Pokhara has supported Rs 500,000 in cash to the corona relief fund established by Gandaki State government.

Association’s chair Surendra Tripathi handed over a bank cheque to Chief Minister of Gandaki State Prithvi Subba Gurung on Monday.
