7 more COVID-19 cases confirmed in Nepal; tally reaches 82

KATHMANDU: The number of COVID-19 infection cases  has climbed  to 82 in Nepal after seven more new cases were confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, seven more persons in Bheri Hospital and Nepalgunj have tested positive for the COVID-19.

Out of seven new cases, three are males aged 22, 30 and 40 while four women are of 09, 32, 34 and 55 years old. They all are from Nepalgunj-8.

“They all are in normal health condition, and are under the supervision of health workers,” Ministry  said in a press note issued this morning.

Nepal on Sunday had confirmed six more new COVID-19 cases, taking the total of infections to 75.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that 16 out of the 82 persons receiving treatment for COVID-19 have returned home after recovery.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 14 persons in Nepalgunj had tested positive for the COVID-19.

Out of 14 new cases, seven are males while seven women. They all are from Nepalgunj-8.

They had been found to be infected in the Nepalgunj testing lab.

Similarly, a 36-year-old person from Chhapkaiya of Birgunj Municipality-3 also was also diagnosed with the pandemic virus.

The 36-year-old’s swab was found to be have been infected during a test at the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu.

Now, he has been kept in the Narayani Hospital, Birgunj.

Meanwhile, District Administration Office, Banke has decided to seal off Nepalgunj area following a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases,  barring people from entering all the wards of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis effective from 11 am on Tuesday to midnight on Thursday.

Similarly, Karnali province has sealed off the entry points into its region to preempt the further spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
