Deuba calls five ex-PMs to discuss COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba today called five former Prime Ministers and discussed ways out to the spread of novel coronavirus in the country.

Deuba took the initiatives at a time when nine people have tested positive for coronavirus in Nepal.

On Sunday, NC President Deuba called ex-PMs, including Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Dr Babu Ram Bhattarai, Lokendra Bahadur Chand, Jhalanath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, as well as Khila Raj Regmi, former Chairman of the Council of Ministers and discussed in length the strategy that the incumbent government needs to adopt to tackle the spread of the virus.

According to his secretariat, former Prime Minister Deuba emphasized on tackling the virus on the basis of a common approach while expressing his solidarity to that end.

Party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that the former PMs concurred to Deuba’s gesture.
