Brick kiln worker drowns in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR: A brick kiln worker died after drowning in a pond made for BM brick kiln at Sudal of Chagunarayan Municipality-8 in Bhaktapur last night.

The Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, has confirmed the death of Mukesh Rai, 30, of Amtara, Gaighat municipality-4 in Udaypur district.

Deep, open and unsafe water ponds created by brick factories often cause the tragic deaths of people primarily children, police said, adding they were investigating the incident.
