Nepal gets 87th position in international women volleyball ranking

KATHMANDU: Nepal has secured 87th position in the world ranking of women volleyball unveiled by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

The FIVB is the supreme body of the world volleyball.

As per the ranking chart issued on Wednesday, National Women Volleyball Team has been placed at the 87th position with 57 points.

The ranking is based on international participation and results.

The Nepali Women Volleyball Team had won the title of AVC Asian Central Zone Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship held in Bangladesh in November 2019.

Nepal had also won the silver medal in women’s volleyball held under the recent 13th South Asian Games.

Likewise, India is in the 54th position with 97 points while China is in the topmost position with the 391 points followed by the USA (second) with 382 points and Brazil (third) with 328 points.

Other countries included in the top ten positions are Italy, Turkey, Serbia, Japan, Russia, the Dominican Republic and South Korea.
