Finance Minister says media not publicizing govt’s good works



KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada today expressed dissatisfaction saying that the media was not publicizing the government’s good works.

He said this while laying the foundation stone of a building of the Tribhuvan University’s Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Balkhu on Wednesday.

Minister Khatiwada said the media should publicize the good works done by the government as it has played an important role in making aware of the citizens.

He emphasized the need for practicing journalism based on moral and social virtues as well as by incorporating moral norms and values.

The Minister further said that the use of technology should be enhanced in journalism education adding that the use of new and digital media has made mass media more credible.

He also said that an Act is being formulated to developing Nepal Television and Radio Nepal as a single public broadcasting service.
