SP Gurung resigns after probe into academic certificate

KATHMANDU: Chief of Nepal Police Music Academy (NPMA) SP Rajendra Gurung has resigned after an investigation into his academic certificate launched.

He resigned three days ago citing personal reasons, Nepal Police Spokesperson DIG Sailesh Thapa confirmed.

“SP Rajendra Gurung has resigned,” media reports quoted him as saying.

Gurung had joined Nepal Police as Sub Inspector presenting an academic certificate of intermediate level.

A probe was launched after a complaint was lodged about his certificate, the report added.
