KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is holding mass meetings and rallies across the country demanding reinstatement of Hindu state with monarchy on Saturday.

The Home Ministry has kept the district administration offices on high alert and has ordered them to keep vigil on the demonstrations and sit-ins to preempt untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, District Administration Office, Kathmandu has deployed a huge mass of security personnel at Maitighar Mandala area in the capital where pro-royalists led by RPP are holding mass meetings demanding scrapping of the federalism and reinstatement of Hindu State with monarchy.

Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs had urged all the concerned not to hold mass meetings, rallies and sit-ins in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to security sources, the government will not use forces but only monitor presuming that the unnecessary use of force would drag the government into controversy.
