COVID-19: Five die in 18 hours in Biratnagar

BIRATNAGAR: Five persons infected with coronavirus died in the last 24 hours in Biratnagar. Four died in hospitals and one in home isolation.

A 55-year-old man from Itahari-18 of Sunsari died at Noble Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar, said hospital manager Narayan Dahal, adding that the man was admitted to the hospital three days back. An 84-year-old man from Bishnupur-1 of Siraha district died in the hospital isolation on Thursday itself.

Similarly, at Neuro COVID-19 Hospital in Biratnagar, a 71-year-old man died while undergoing treatment, according to hospital administrator Suresh Acharya.

Max Hospital of Morang recorded the death of a 55-year-old person from Jahad Rural Municipality-3, according to the administrative chief at the hospital, Hemnarayan Mehta.

Another elderly person to lose life to COVID-19 is a 70-year-old man from Biratnagar-8. He died in home isolation, according to Biratnagar Metropolis.

Meanwhile, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law in Province-1 Hikmat Kumar Karki recovered from infection after fourteen-day isolation.
