NEA engineer arrested with Rs one million bribe



KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Ishwari Prasad Jaiswal, an engineer of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), along with a bribe of Rs one million.

A team deployed from the Hetauda office of the Commission has arrested Jaiswal, a ninth level engineer working on the Hetauda-Bharatpur-Bardaghat transmission line project, today.

A team of the Commission led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhim Kiran Bogati made the arrest, according to the Commission’s office.

He was arrested from a hotel in the bus park of Hetauda. Engineer Jaiswal had demanded the kickback for the purpose of paying the contract amount.
