Kathmandu Valley witnesses 1,398 fresh COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: As many as 1,398 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,091 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 147 in Bhaktapur and 160 in Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, 3,051people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 has reached 185,974 with fresh cases as of Thursday afternoon.

Altogether 13,068 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 3,430 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 148,408 in the country.

Nepal currently has 36,514 active cases.

Likewise, 1,232 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

A total of 428 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 74 have been put on ventilator support.

As many as 18 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1052, the Ministry confirmed.
