KATHMANDU: Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane, who is on a three-day visit to Nepal, is scheduled to go to Solukhumbu district on Friday.
Indian Army Chief Naravane will leave for Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality of Solukhumbu district to catch a glimpse of Mt Everest on Friday morning.
Naravane will go to Hotel Everest View based in Everest National Park which offers a majestic view of Mt Everest and the Himalayas surrounding it. He will have breakfast at the hotel and enjoy the view of the world’s highest peak, according to Nepal Army sources.
He will then return to Kathmandu on a Nepal Army helicopter. Mt Everest is seen very close from Hotel Everest View and can be reached within an hour on foot from Namche Bazaar.
However, Nepal Army has not officially unveiled the Naravane’s Solukhumbu visit program.
Naravane, who came to Nepal at the invitation of Nepal Army General Purna Chandra Thapa yesterday, offered prayers at Lord Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu and visited the Kathmandu Durbar Square Wednesday afternoon.
He will return home on Friday.
