National Innovation Center set to manufacture isolation hoods

KATHMANDU: The National Innovation Center (NIC), a non-profit organization, is set to manufacture isolation hoods targeting critical coronavirus patients.

These isolation hoods will help coronavirus patients to inhale oxygen and medical persons from getting infected with the virus, according to Mahabir Pun, social entrepreneur and chairperson of the NIC.

“The NIC is manufacturing isolation hoods in a large number which will help the coronavirus patients to inhale oxygen as well as doctors and health workers from getting infected with the virus,” said Pun in a Facebook message.

This is like an airproof sack with oxygen pipe attached to it which will help the patient to inhale the oxygen from the oxygen cylinder.

“If it is procured from China, it costs Rs 18,000. The NIC will make it available for Rs 3, 000,” said Pun, adding, “These isolation hoods will be available after few days.”
