Nine more succumb to coronavirus, Nepal’s death toll hits 280



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded nine new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 280, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.

In a regular press briefing on Saturday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that six men and three women have died of the pandemic.

Women aged 43 years in Morang, 52 years in Makwanpur and 37 years in Nawalparasi have died of the coronavirus.

Likewise, a 75-year-old man in Parsa, a 78-year-old man in Mahottari, men aged 41, 69 and 65 years in Kathmandu and a 40-year-old man in Rupandehi have succumbed to the pandemic, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded 1,041 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. With the new cases, Nepal’s caseload has reached 45,277.

Similarly, coronavirus has been confirmed on 408 people in Kathmandu valley in the last 24 hours.
