Five succumb to coronavirus on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: Five persons have died of coronavirus on Wednesday. A sexagenarian undergoing treatment at the Balambu-based Armed Police Force (APF) Hospital in Kathmandu succumbed to coronavirus in Kathmandu Wednesday afternoon.

A 65-year-old female from Malangawa of Sarlahi district passed away today, Spokesperson of the hospital SP Dr Prabin Nepal confirmed.

She was admitted to a local hospital after he complained of fever. However, she was later shifted to the Man Mohan Hospital, Swayambhu last Friday after his health deteriorated.

Her swab was taken for test the same day, according to Dr Nepal adding that her report came out positive on Sunday. She was then referred to APF Hospital where she was kept on a ventilator.

Likewise, coronavirus pandemic claimed two lives in the last 24 hours in Parsa.

According to Dr. Madan Upadhyaya, the Medical Superintendent of Narayani Hospital, a male, 46, from Birgunj-15 Biswa died of coronavirus on Wednesday morning making the COVID-19 death toll in the district to 14.

The male was undergoing treatment against coronavirus in Birgunj Health Care Temporary Hospital. He was a diabetic who was transferred to the temporary COVID-19 hospital after he tested positive for coronavirus on August 3.

Similarly, the PCR report of the 18-year-old female of Pokhariya-9 has also come out coronavirus positive.

Likewise, the test report of a person who died while undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of Koshi Hospital in Morang has come out positive.

Similarly, the report of the 45-year-old male of Rangeli who died on the way to the hospital has also come positive for coronavirus.
