Nepal’s COVID-19 death tally  jumps to 60  as 46-yr-old dies in Birgunj



BIRGUNJ: One more person has succumbed to coronavirus in Birgunj, taking the death tally from the deadly virus in Nepal to 60.

A 46-year-old man of Birgunj Metrpolitan City-15 passed away while undergoing treatment at COVID-19 Birgunj Health Care Hospital at 6 am on Wednesday, confirmed Medical Superintendent Dr Madan Kumar Upadhyaya.

According to Dr Upadhyaya, he had been admitted to the hospital after he complained of fever on Tuesday.

His swab had been collected on August 2 and was confirmed infected with the virus after his swab sample report came out to be positive the next day.

With this the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached 60 in Nepal.

Earlier, an 18-year-old girl of Pokhariya municipality-9 in Parsa was reported to have died of coronavirus.

She was confirmed infected with COVID-19 after her swab sample report came out positive during test at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital last night.

Diarrhea patient had died on Monday while being rushed to National Medical College.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China on last December, the coronavirus has infected more than 21,000 people in Nepal so far.
