Dhaulagiri Hospital closes OPD after nurse tests positive for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: A staff-nurse working at Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital, Baglung has contracted coronavirus.

Issuing a press note on Tuesday night, the hospital confirmed that a 25-year-old staff-nurse was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The nurse had been deployed in the care of those put in the isolation set up at Dhaulagiri Multiple Campus.

Dhaulagiri Hospital has shut down the Outpatient Department for an indefinite period after the nurse tested positive for coronavirus, said Dr Shailendra Pokharel, acting medical superintendent at the hospital.

Meanwhile, contract tracing has been initiated among other medical staffers and family members and relatives of the nurse, said Dr Pokharel.
