KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba conceded that he held talks with emissaries of both Prime Minister KP Oli and Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

“True, they came to me, I talked to them, but I haven’t given them my word,” Deuba told his party leaders during today’s central committee meeting.

Central members of the party, including senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel had asked Deuba to clarify about the meetings with the emissaries of the ruling Nepal Communist Party.

It should be recalled that NCP leader Subash Chandra Nemwang had reached Deuba’s residence this Sunday morning as an emissary of PM Oli.

NC leaders, however, said such activities are common in politics, especially when the ruling party is in a crisis.

Meanwhile, NC has said it would remain neutral and will not take the side of any faction of the ruling NCP or get involved in the wrangling.

“It is their internal matter, we don;t interfere,” said NC Spokesperson Biswo Prakash Sharma.
