165 places in Kathmandu Valley at high risk of floods, landslides and inundation



KATHMANDU: A total of 165 places in the Kathmandu Valley are at high risk of floods, landslides and inundation.

According to the data prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs, 74 places in Kathmandu, 48 places in Lalitpur and 43 places in Bhaktapur are at high risk of floods, landslides and inundation, media reports said on Sunday.

In Kathmandu alone, 33 places can be flooded, landslides can occur at nine places and dilapidated structures in 15 places can cave-in.

Similarly, Lalitpur has a high risk of floods in 39 places and landslides in 9 places and there is a possibility of inundation in 22 places, floods in eight places and landslides in 13 places in Bhaktapur.
