Lawmakers for speeding up construction works of Pushpa Lal Highway

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have urged the government to intensify the construction works of Pushpa Lal Highway, which has been halted at various places across the country.

While speaking at the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Friday, the lawmakers drew the attention of the government that works on construction of the highway were not intensified in Khotang and Dhading districts.

The Mid-Hill Highway stretches in 1,776 km from Chyangthapu of Panchthar in the east to Jhulaghat of Baitadi in the west. It is believed that some 10 million people in the mid-hill across the country will be directly benefited with transportation.

concern over changing the name of Mid-Hill Highway.

Other lawmakers participating in the deliberation were Khem Prasad Lohani, Jhapat Rawal, Methmadi Chaudhary, Asha Kumari BK, Gauri Shankar Chaudhary, Jeep Chhiring Lama, Dev Prasad Timilsina, Durga Bahadur Rawat, and Teju Lal Chaudhary among others.
