Two women give birth in quarantine

DOTI: Two women kept in quarantine, who had returned home from India along with their husbands during the lockdown, have given birth in Doti district.

Geeta Aauji gave birth to a baby in a quarantine set up at the Devi Secondary School at Khatiwada of Silgadhi municipality-2.

A total of 74 people are staying in this quarantine, according to Rajendra Khadka, the Silgadhi municipality-2 ward chair.

She had returned home along with her husband on May 25.

Khadka said the new mother and her child are in normal health and they would be sent into home quarantine if the mother and child tested negative for coronavirus once their test results were available.

Likewise, Pooja Sarki, 25, gave birth at the Bhawani Basic School Khanyadi Chhadimandau quarantine facility in Shikhar municipality-3.

She had returned home from Mumbai, India along with her husband on May 29, said Harish Shah, the municipality’s health coordinator.

Shah said the new mother and her baby are in normal health condition.
