Three held with pangolin scales



MAKWANPUR:  Police have arrested three individuals with the scales of a pangolin in the district.

The arrested have been identified as 39-year-old Amik Ghalan of Manahari Rural Municipality-7, 32-year-old Lal Singh Bomjan of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City and Budhawa Chaudhary, 45,  of Rapti Municipality-7 of Chitwan.

A police team deployed from Area Police Office, Manahari arrested the trio in possession of scales of an endangered pangolin.

The police seized 650 grams of pangolin scales concealed in a bag during a security check.

They have been sent to the Division Forest Office, Rapti for necessary action, said District Police Office, Makwanpur.
