Coronavirus kills 110, 171, infects 1,923,636 in USA



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,029 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 110, 171.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 21, 853 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,923,636 so far.

Currently, 1,106, 315 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16, 925 are critical.  Meanwhile, 707, 150 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 30, 281 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 12,006 and 7, 201 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 393,142 and infecting 6,698, 370 people as of Friday morning.
