High Level Committee recommends continuation of lockdown in Valley

Hilly and Himalayan regions to enjoy slight relaxation

KATHMANDU: A meeting of High Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 held on Monday has recommended the Council of Ministers not to ‘relax’ the existing lockdown in Kathmandu.

The Committee has suggested the Council of Ministers not to loosen the lockdown in the Kathmandu Valley as ‘relaxing’ could further put the Valley at risk.

However, the committee has recommended to make lockdown less strict in hilly and Himalayan regions. It has also advised to resume the internal transportation.

All districts in the countries are divided into risky, less risky and least risky.

The meeting was also attended by the chief of security agencies.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers will make the final decision on lockdown on Tuesday.
