Nepalis back home from Indian quarantine



BAIDATI: Nepalis who had been in Indian quarantine for more than a month have returned home. They said they are happy for returning to their home country.

Uttam Bohara of Purchaundi Municipality-8 of Baitadi said that he was very happy to come to his homeland amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are very happy to be able to return home when there are so many problems in the quarantine of foreign lands,” he said.

Thousands of Nepalis were quarantined in the Indian border area after a lockdown was enforced in both the countries to contain and prevent coronavirus. They were allowed to return home only on Thursday.

Ramesh Ram Od said that he was very happy to return to his homeland. He was very happy to step foot in the motherland and thanked all those who took the initiative to bring them home.

Birendra Pathak of Purchaundi Municipality-8 of Baitadi also said that he was very happy to return home from the Indian quarantine.

“It’s much better to be in quarantine at home than in a foreign land,” he said.
