BHARATPUR: Senior leader of Nepali Congress, Ramchandra Poudel, has said the recent decision in the party must be corrected.

Talking to media persons at Bharatpur airport today, senior leader Poudel said he had not accepted the work style of party President.

“The points I raised for consensus must be addressed, which paves way for unity in the party,” he reiterated. Poudel further accused party President Sher Bahadur Deuba of acting one-sidedly.

The NC has announced the date for its 14th general convention by extending the term of the existing working committee amidst boycott by the Poudel camp. It has widened the rift in the party.

Senior leader Poudel further said “There are problems at the party. I had presented a nine-point agenda for resolving problems in the party. But discussion eluded and a decision was taken one-sidedly.”

He, however, said the disputes enliven the party.

He also argued that he was on a mission to restore the party as a center of trust. The cadres and leaders seek an option to make the party stronger.

Moreover, he admitted that NC leadership failed to play an effective role in opposition.
