16 doctors working at emergency ward at Bir Hospital resign



KATHMANDU: As many as 16 doctors working in the emergency ward of Bir Hospital have resigned en masse.

They have submitted their resignation papers to Dr. Krishna Kumar Century, Director at the hospital after their demands were not responded even after their continuous submission.

The letter states that the hospital did not pay the Dashain allowance, deducted one day’s salary and was assigned to work for 96 hours a week.

Doctors also said that the hospital had assigned them in various jobs threatening them.

They have said that even after continuous service in the midst of the epidemic, such behavior from the hospital has demoralized them.

They also complained that the hospital did not provide adequate medical supplies for the work.

Doctors who resigned today are  medical officers  working in emergency ward.
