8,260 security personnel test COVID-19 positive so far



KATHMANDU: A total of 8,260 security personnel deployed on COVID-19 frontline have been diagnosed positive for the pandemic so far.

The highest number of 4,423 personnel of the Nepal Police has contracted the coronavirus so far. Of them, 1,726 are receiving treatment, while 2,697 have been discharged.

Among the active cases, 301 are from Police Headquarters, 597 from Kathmandu Valley, 143 from Province 1, 84 from Province 2, 134 from Bagmati Province, 134 from Gandaki Province, 176 from Province 5, 41 from Karnali Province, and 95 from Sudurpaschim Province.

Similarly, 2,590 personnel of the Nepal Army have been infected with the coronavirus. Of them, 808 have been discharged, and 1,880 are under isolation. Two army personnel have died due to the infection.

A total of 1,247 personnel of the Armed Police Force have been infected, while 999 people have been discharged.

Likewise, 248 people are receiving treatment.
