NC Headquarters closed for five days after leaders test positive



KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC), has closed its central office based in Sanepa for five days starting from Sunday.

Four central members were tested positive on Saturday after swab samples of 250 people, including the central members, were sent to the National Public Health laboratory based in Teku for a PCR test.

According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, it has been decided to close the office till October 8.

Central members Arjun Narasingha KC, Gagan Thapa, invited central members Shambhulal Shrestha, Kalpana Chaudhary and others were found infected from the virus.

Similarly, reports of 160 persons are yet to come.

The party had conducted the PCR test for the Central Working Committee meeting slated for Monday. The meeting has been pushed into uncertainty after the leaders diagnosed positive.

Meanwhile, Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that an informal meeting of office-bearers and former office-bearers scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.
