Gandaki Province records 43 fresh COVID-19 cases

POKHARA: A total of 43 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in Gandaki Province on Friday in tests carried out at the Province Tuberculosis Treatment Center.

Earlier this morning, the province had recorded 40 new cases.

The newly infected people are 24 from Nawalparasi East, 16 from Gorkha and one each from Manang, Kaski and Syangja.

One person from Manang, Chame is working in Nepal Police while the infected person from Ajirkot in Gorkha district is an Indian returnee.

The Health Directorate stated that all the other infected people have been identified through contact tracing.

So far, the number of people recovering from the coronavirus in the province is 1,766 and the recovery rate is 75 percent, according to the directorate.

Similarly, 2,397 people have been infected in the province so far while 16 have succumbed to the pandemic.
