GORKHA: A ward chairman has been arrested on the charge of rape in Gorkha district.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the victim, police arrested Thakurkanta Ranabhat of Palungtar municipality-4 on Monday evening.
Ranabhat allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl of his own ward, according to District Police Office, Gorkha.
Police said they are investigating the case after taking the perpetrator into custody.
